Since the by Westcord Hotels takeover of the ss Rotterdam in 2013, the two Rotterdam icons have finally been reunited after years: the ss Rotterdam (former flagship of the Holland-America Line) and Hotel New York (former headquarters of the Holland-America Line). The ss Rotterdam and Hotel New York are within walking distance of each other. They were once part of the rich and 140 years long history of the Holland-America Line.
ss Rotterdam
As a former flagship of the Holland-America Line and cruise ship, ss Rotterdam has sailed many oceans. Discover the many stories of the La Grande Dame and experience the authentic atmosphere while you come to sleep, eat, meet, party, marry or discover. Since 4 August 2008, the steamship has been a floating multifunctional location at the head of Katendrecht in Rotterdam. The ship has been completely renovated in the style and state as the designers had come up with in the ’50s.
Hotel
Hotel
A world class hotel on the water. Besides the fact that the ship will not sail, the 4-star hotel offers a completely different world through the authentic atmosphere, the many works of art and the entourage of the earlier years. Where the 576 cabins of the steamship used to be, you will now find 254 modern hotel rooms decorated in the design atmosphere of the 1950s. Choose one of the six room types and spend the night in a fifties decor of your choice: Original, Manhattan or Bahamas. Each room is unique in form, design and color. Wondering how the guests experienced the first crossing to New York in 1959? Or would you rather go for the cruise feeling? Step aboard the former flagship of the Holland-America Line and experience it yourself.

Escape Room
The story of the Escape Room ss Rotterdam is based on the mysterious secrets of the ship’s former captain. The story takes place at the end of the ’90s, when Premier Cruises took over the ship from the Holland-America Line, and rechristened the ship the ss Rembrandt. The Escape Room activity on board the ss Rotterdam takes place in two identical rooms on D deck, deep within the ship, which formerly served as cold stores. The participants are ‘locked’ in one of these cold stores. Participants have just 60 exciting and action-packed minutes to unravel all the mysteries of the captain. Excitement and sensation are the keywords in the Escape Room ss Rotterdam. Can you unravel the secrets in time?
