NY Basement is located in the basement of Hotel New York, a place where you can leave the hustle and bustle of the city behind. In this intimate and timeless setting, guests come together to enjoy surprising dishes and unique cocktails at our 11-metre-long cocktail bar.
Our kitchen is all about flavour and attention to detail, while the bar focuses on great cocktails and good conversations. Whether you have something to celebrate, want to enjoy an elaborate dinner together or are simply in the mood for a wonderful night out, everyone is welcome at NY Basement. This is a place to enjoy, with attention to taste, seasons and details on the plate, without formal rules.

At NY Basement, you decide how your evening unfolds. Join us for a drink at the bar, compose your own dinner with a selection of starters, intermediate courses, mains and desserts, or let yourself be surprised by the Chef’s Special in 4 or 5 courses.
The kitchen works with care for flavour and seasonal ingredients, with each dish thoughtfully prepared. If you choose multiple courses, we are happy to suggest a matching glass of wine to complete the experience. This way, every evening at NY Basement is as extensive or as relaxed as you wish.
Cocktail time
In the mood for a great cocktail? The cocktail bar at NY Basement is unique in Rotterdam and the perfect place for a cocktail moment. Take a seat at the 11-metre-long bar while our bartenders shake and serve creative, surprising cocktails, ideal for a planned evening out or a spontaneous drink.
Sinatra Sunday
Every first Sunday of the month, NY Basement is dedicated to Sinatra Sunday. With live music by Frank In Person and dishes inspired by the Manhattan of the past, it’s an afternoon full of atmosphere and flavour.
