NY Basement and live music belong together! That’s why, every week (from September untill May), we will organise live music on Sunday afternoon. Musicians will take you into the world of music. Enjoy this swinging, compelling and atmospheric live music from 2:00 pm till 5:30 pm.

During this lunch we serve a special menu for € 29.50 per person. This consists of a bite in advance, followed by 3 exciting dishes. After this there is always the possibility to enjoy a dessert, or perhaps a cocktail at our bar!

A la Carte

NY Basement is only open for lunch on Sundays. It is possible to order our dishes from the menu. From 1.30 pm you are more than welcome in the basement of Hotel New York.

Jimmy Diggin ‘Jazz, consist of vocals, piano and double bass, has a primal need to bring jazz music from the 40s and 50s to life in an intimate, uncomplicated and limitlessly swinging way. Since their study at the Conservatorium of Amsterdam they share the passion for the fantastic ‘American Songbook’. A passion that they love to share with their audience.

Little Breeze consists of Glenda Lems (vocals), Alex Ouwehand (guitar) and Ron Aarts (bass). The repertoire that this trio bring is very varied and consists of music from different artists, periods and genres. You can think about music from Eva Cassidy, Michael Jackson, The Beatles, up to more modern music by Sam Smith or even Britney Spears.

Swing Twice contains five experienced jazz  musicians in occupation of a lead singer, sax, piano, bass and drums. They serve a delicious mix of recognizable jazz with a small scent of pop. Songs from jazz icons Randy Crawford, Aretha Franklin and Jane Monheit, but also songs from Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles and Van Morrison are played quite often. With over 20 years of experience and a comprehensive playlist, the band flawlessly knows how to find the right balance in both entertaining the crowd with beautiful, atmospheric ballads and sensitive latin jazz or some more magical fireworks, where the dancefloor attracts like a magnet.

Vintage jazz band WhoSHEdo takes you back to the nostalgic atmosphere of New York in the 1930s: a sultry nightclub, jazz, whiskey, champagne, cigars, gangsters…. WhoSHEdo plays swinging 30s music with influences of gypsy jazz, motown, tango and latin jazz.

Five young and talented musicians share their passion about authentic traditional American music from the southern states. The repertoire of old school Texas and Nashville legends in their own unique arrangements and sound. Raw, pure country and western swing, jazz & blues; Cousin Hatfield performs it in their own way and with their own songs. This includes playing virtuoso, spot-on vocal harmony and an enjoyable show which you won’t forget very easily. Besides conquering the Dutch country music scene, they are to be found among all of Europe.
